Since I’ve worked in this industry for over 20 years, I’m well aware that dealing with your skin’s unique needs can be difficult. And some of us aren’t as gifted as others with not having to put in a single ounce of effort when it comes to having beautiful skin. Although I’m happy for those lucky individuals, not everyone is as fortunate.
Our skin changes, adapts, evolves; to be honest, it can be exhausting to know how to handle our skin. And just when you think you’ve got it down and you’ve been feeling absolutely flawless for some time—BOOM—your skincare regimen is no longer doing the trick, and we’re back to square one. From dealing with the bothersome effects of aging to managing acne-prone or sensitive skin, I understand that everyone’s situation is complex and personal to themselves.
It’s hard, I know; and trust me, I’ve been in your shoes. To make things harder, there are so many skincare resources out there that it can make solving the ongoing enigma of our skin a pain in the rear end. It can be exceedingly confusing and discouraging to know which products to use; to know which products you shouldn’t use; to discover treatments that work for your skin out of the plethora of skincare services that exist out there; and to find a skincare specialist who you can trust with achieving the skin of your dreams. So how exactly are we supposed to deal with our skin, the largest organ of the human body—yep, it’s actually considered an organ—so that we feel confident and happy in our everyday lives?
With an overload of information and resources, I decided that I not only wanted to be somebody you can trust as your skincare specialist, but somebody from whom you can learn. I want to make your lives easier! This is what I love so much about what I do for a living, so I’ve convinced myself to do something I’ve never actually done before: write a blog.
I don’t have much content actually written quite yet, but I have so many ideas and trends and facts that I plan to shed light on and share with you guys. So here goes nothing: introducing a cut-the-crap skincare blog by yours truly, Shelly. <3
Stay tuned for upcoming blog posts and special content to help make your lives just a little bit easier.
